Natural Bridge Caverns
The largest known commercial caverns in Texas, Natural Bridge Caverns sit about 20 miles southwest of New Braunfels and have been open to the public since 1964. This is one of the most bus-friendly attractions in the region—a dedicated motorcoach parking lot is on-site, and groups of 20 or more receive discounted admission with advance reservation through the group sales office at (210) 651-6101. Tours run daily and cover stunning limestone formations hundreds of feet below the surface.

Wurstfest Grounds at Landa Park
Wurstfest (178 Landa Park Dr, New Braunfels, TX 78130) is one of the largest German heritage festivals in the United States—a 10-day celebration of food, music, and Schäumchen (that's foam, from the beer) drawing more than 100,000 visitors every fall. The 2026 festival runs November 6 through 15. FM 306 and Loop 337 see significant congestion on peak weekend days, and parking fills by noon.
Charter buses drop off at the Wurstfest main entrance on Landa Park Dr and stage in the overflow area along the river road. A charter bus skips the parking hassle and the gridlock entirely—this is the highest-demand charter bus weekend of the year in New Braunfels, so book six months out or more.
Canyon Lake & Canyon Lake Gorge
Canyon Lake (Canyon Lake, TX 78133) is about 15 miles west of New Braunfels via FM 306—a reservoir on the Guadalupe River with swimming, boating, fishing, and some of the most scenic Hill Country views in Central Texas. The standout attraction for group tours is the Canyon Lake Gorge (1 Gorge Rd, New Braunfels, TX 78133), a canyon exposed by the catastrophic 2002 flood that reveals 100-million-year-old limestone formations and dinosaur tracks. Guided tours are the only way in and must be reserved in advance through the Guadalupe-Blanco River Authority (GBRA).
Comal County Park and Cranes Mill Park both offer group picnic areas with bus-accessible parking. FM 306 is single-lane in sections and slow on summer weekends—plan your timing accordingly and build in extra travel time from New Braunfels.
